Saturday 6 December 2025 on Italy 1 will air the film Il GGG – Il Grande Gigante Gentile, directed by Steven Spielberg and taken from the novel The GGG by Roald Dahl. The film (The BFG in English) was released in 2016 and cashed $195.2 million worldwide. The film, distributed by Medusa Film, in Italy has cashed € 4.5 million.

The GGG is a giant, a Big Giant Gentile, very different from the other inhabitants of the Country of Giants who like San-Guinario and Inghiotticicciaviva feed on human beings, preferably children. And so one night the GGG – which is vegetarian and feeds only of Cetrionzoli and Sciroppio – kidnaps Sophie, a child who lives in London and takes her to her cave.
Initially frightened by the mysterious giant, Sophie soon realizes that the GGG is actually sweet, friendly and can teach her wonderful things. In fact, the GGG brings Sophie to the Dream Country, where she captures the dreams she sends at night to children and explains everything about the magic and mystery of dreams. The affection and complicity between the two grows rapidly, and when the other giants are ready for a new massacre, the GGG and Sophie decide to warn nothing less than the Queen of England of the imminent threat, and all together will conceive a plan to get rid of the giants once and for all.
