Tuesday, December 9, 2025 on Rai Movie will air L’Immortale, a French film of 2010, taken from the novel by Franz-Olivier Giesbert, and inspired by the true story of Jacky Imbert, the boss of Marseille who survived an attack in 1977 (not to be confused with the film tied to Gomorra). Immortal cashed just over $21 million worldwide (but it didn’t come out in the USA) when he went out to the cinema in 2010. In Italy the film has cashed 761 thousand euros. The film was directed by Richard Berry, with Jean Reno as the protagonist.
L’Immortale, la trama
The immortal tells the story of Charles “Charly” Mattei, the boss of the crime of Marseille, who after spending his life in bad business decides to redeem himself completely leaving that world. But the man will be the target of his old friend, Tony Zacchia, who wants to kill him for treason.
Tony will then plan an ambush in a parking lot to kill Charly, but the latter survives, although he will be severely injured following the twenty-two gunshots that hit him. When Charly comes out of the hospital he discovers that the author of his “execution” is his old brotherly friend, but he will decide to lay the other cheek and not to get revenge.
But Tony will go further and kill a dear friend of Charly, at this point he will be forced to react and return to a world that he had desperately tried to leave behind, but which inevitably persecutes him. To succeed in the company, she will be helped by the young inspector, Marie Goldman.
