A new and intense psychological thriller is about to enrich the Paramount+ catalog. This is Little Disasters, a six-episode miniseries from Sarah Vaughan’s bestseller novel, an author already known for Anatomy of a Scandal. The series, developed by the creative team of Roughcut Television, winner of a BAFTA®, will be available exclusively in Italy and in other global territories starting from Thursday, December 11 with all six bets available.
La trama di Little Disasters
Little Disasters focuses on a ten-year friendship between four women, Jess (Diane Kruger), Liz (Jo Joyner), Charlotte (Shelley Conn) and Mel (Emily Taaffe). Initially joined by the same date of childbirth, they remained tied throughout their path into motherhood.
The tension explodes when Jess, the seemingly perfect mother and housewife, takes her baby to the hospital. The newborn has a head injury for which Jess cannot provide convincing explanations. To make the situation even more dramatic, friend Liz is the doctor in turn at the emergency room. At this point, Liz is faced with a hearty decision: or not call social services. A single call is enough to unleash a chain of events that risks shattering not only their families, but the whole group of friends.
Il cast
The series is directed by Eva Sigurðardóttir (candidate to BAFTA for Good Night and Rainbow Party) and mixes realism and suspense, offering an intimate but disturbing portrait of what it means to be a mother today. The miniseries is led by Diane Kruger as Jess, the perfect mother whose explanation for the child’s accident triggers the drama.
