Hachiko – Your best friend, the moving film with Richard Gere tonight on TV

Tonight on TV Wednesday 24 December 2025 on Rete 4 will air the movie “Hachiko – Your best friend“. The film is directed by Lasse Hallström, and is inspired by the true story of a Japanese dog and a 1987 Japanese film. Richard Gere and Joan Allen are the protagonists of the film. The film (Hachi: A Dog’s Tale in English) was released in the theatres of the world in 2009 and cashed only $46.7 million, in the United States the film never arrived in the hall. In Italy the film has cashed about 2.2 million euros distributed by Lucky Red. .

The plot of Hachiko tells the story of Hachi who every day accompanies Professor Parker (Richard Gere) to the station and waits for him on his return to welcome him.
