His & Hers – His Truth, on Netflix: a miniseries that captures for braiding and actor tests

His & Hers – His truth is a miniseries available on Netflix, adaptation of Alice Feeney’s novel, produced by Fifth Season and with Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal to lead the cast. Mystery thriller that captures from the first to the last minute, dragging the viewer into a spiral of doubts and suspicions to demonstrate how for each story, there is never a single encoded truth for each person. We are from the parts of engaging entertainment, of those built on twists and scenes built to sway (not by chance the novel was praised by Halan Coben whose stories are really thought like this) but to make everything more convincing is the development of the characters and the evidence of the actors. You bet they’re eating in a couple of nights.

His & Hers – La sua verità, la trama

Let’s get this tooth off right now and see what it is. In the center there is the story of Anna, a journalist from Atlanta who after a traumatic event of her life retired, lives isolated, leaving the job. When she hears of a murder in Dahlonega, a town not far from Atlanta where she grew up, she convinces her boss to send her to the camp. But is Detective Jack Harper suspicious of his presence that he might be involved in the murder?

Piccoli centri, grandi misteri

Reading the title and phrase “Everyone has its truth” in the plot and in the various presentations, I had the idea to find myself in front of a product on the genre of the first season of The Affair in which a story was told by two points of view. Actually, it’s not. The concept of the truth of each one is more conveyed in a broader sense and consistent with history itself and, sincerely, could be somewhat applied to all mystery. Because at the end of the fair every suspect tells his truth, each of us has different faces depending on the people we interact with. And who denies it is telling a truth of his.

Precisely for this to talk about the His & Hers miniseries is quite impossible without spoiler, because the plot and its development twist after twist of scene, is an integral part of its strength. The miniseries, however, tries to go beyond the most typical techniques of mystery bringing us into a local, restricted reality, where everyone knows and where social, racial, economic differences are even stronger. Where nothing seems to happen, and when something happens, the sense of omerity prevails, which covets and raises monsters. Everyone has his truth, because everyone has his trauma, his secret.

The miniseries is dotted with good interpretations, cast choices are clear but a little all the actors seem to repeat good evidence and characters already seen elsewhere. Tessa Thompson is enigmatic and seductive, Jon Bernthal is able to give characters that always seem to explode but never do. His & Hers is a miniseries recommended to all lovers of mystery thrillers. Colpo di scena: meglio con o senza?

Sometimes it’s a little bit, in a thriller, to blow everything up: Here, this series is very successful for me. It starts well, in the middle it begins to show signs of failure in the credibility of history and in the end, even after having “divorated” voraciously with curiosity and fun, it sends everything to the air with some dynamics in the script that make water from all sides. This does not take away that seeing it does its “dirty” duty: it entertains you with wonder.

A twist of scene after the other, the six bets are allowed to look that it is a pleasure, but in the end ‘the twists of scene are so many that, if you stop thinking, to reason, in a few seconds you realize that the final does not make much sense under so many points of view. Too bad, because the cast is definitely worthwhile and for me to see Jon Bernthal acting is always a joy. These his rough, scratching characters, with an impassive and suffering look, the roca voice, the almost animal instinct that every one seems to spring from every reaction above the lines, all seem similar to each other, yet every time, he manages to give thickness and intensity to the role he plays.

And believe me, he also succeeds here, he’s awe in the role of the provincial detective with a broken heart and looking for a rival. Just come to terms with the suspension of unbelief and the series will love you very much, I’m sure. Vote 6 – Giorgia Di Stefano
