The film tells the story of Jeremy Coleman, a fireman who one day by mistake will witness the murder of the owner of a food and his children. Homicide by a local boss, Hagan, portrayed by Vincent D’Onofrio. Jeremy, who in turn risked his life, will be contacted by Detective Mike Cella (Bruce Willis), who is determined to solve the murder and asks him to testify against Hagan.
But it won’t be that easy, because when Jeremy identifies the killer and tells the police, the boss will start threatening him. For this reason Jeremy is included in the witness protection program, so he will have a new identity and will abandon the work of firefighter. But Hagan’s resources are endless, he will find it and will begin to threaten the loved ones, like his girlfriend Talia. So Jeremy will decide to stop running away and fix his life, answering fire, with fire.
