Le dichiarazioni

“Since I left my childhood in Vermont, I learned that what matters often happens far from the poles and the finish line,” said director Pat Dimon. “On the Edge tells what it means to go beyond the patinated surface and enter the true essence of the World Cup races: the fatigue of travel, the weight of accidents, the pressure and the mentality necessary to arrive and stay at that level. Following athletes such as Mikaela Shiffrin, Marco Odermatt, Lindsey Vonn, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde and Lucas Pinheiro Braathen for an entire season, the series captures the human side of sport while skiers aim at the most important race of their career: the Milan Cortina Olympic Games.”.

“On the Edge shows not only the evolution of alpine skiing as a global sport, but also what makes it extraordinary,” said FIS President Johan Eliasch. “Ambientata in some of the most spectacular landscapes in the world, the series tells the human stories behind speed, risk and precision in the World Cup races: the dedication, resilience and passion that define our athletes well beyond the goal. By creating these stories, these projects help to show a new audience the beauty and intensity of our sport, contributing to its constant growth.”.

“On the Edge offers fans an authentic look behind the scenes on what they really need to compete at the highest levels of alpine skiing,” said Sophie Goldschmidt, President & CEO of U.S. Ski & Snowboard. “Our athletes operate at the limit of human performance every time they cross the starting gate, and this series shows the speed and risk needed to chase Olympic dreams. This docuserie allows us to show our sport and our athletes on a global stage.”.
