Thursday 26 February 2026 on Channel 5 will air the cult film of the 2000s “The Gladiator” to its millionth passage on television. Directed by Ridley Scott, the film returns on television, hoping that fans will soon see a follow-up that Ridley Scott is preparing, along with Peter Craig (here’s the details). Il Gladiatore, la trama
The film is set in the year 180 AD, tells the story of the Roman general Massimo Decimo Meridio. He was a skilled leader and general of the Roman army, estimated by all. When the Emperor Marcus Aurelius, now old, decides to rule him as his successor instead of his son Commodus, considered a person devoid of morality and therefore not suitable for the role of emperor.
