Now it’s really official Skydance Paramount purchased the whole Warner Bros group. Discovery (and not only studios and platform like Netflix would do) for $110 billion. Paramount Skydance has also already paid $2.8 billion to Netflix for breaking the deal between Netflix and Warner. Paramount has ensured that 30 films per year will be distributed (15 per studio) and that they will have at least 45 days of distribution in global theatres. If this is the case, only time will be able to say even if the 30 films seem a little too many considering that the weeks are 52 in a year.
On the front of the TV series it is difficult to say what will happen considering that the group has inside it a channel in clear like CBS, different cable channels, two streaming platforms. A reduction in product titles is quite likely. At international level it is even more complex and it will take some time to define everything, in Italy, so much to say, Paramount has an agreement with Sky stable while he broke up with Warner (although there are rumors of a return of Warner Bros Discovery channels and the discovery+ platform). Also in Europe there is the SkyShowtime platform that combines Paramount titles with Sky. Undoubtedly globally, the unique Paramount+/HBO Max platform would be a giant that could also be active on the sports rights market.
