The plot of Silver Pattini the film tonight on TV, takes us to St. Petersburg at the end of 1800, precisely in the Christmas period of 1899. The city is frozen, surrounded by a fairytale atmosphere, the rivers are frozen and the population uses them as ice rinks. In this magical atmosphere we meet Matvej, humble farm of a bakery of the city. His only wealth is silver skates he inherited from his father.
One day he is unjustly dismissed and the only way to survive is to join a gang of pickpockets who do thefts by skating. So one night accepting a challenge per bet, enters the property of an officer. Here he meets Alisa, the daughter of the minister, an unhappy girl, locked in a golden tower, who dreams of a different life, made of adventure and above all of science. Alisa would like to be a scientist but the father and the rest of his family disagree. Thanks to Matvej he begins to attend the university while his father wants to marry the captain of the city’s guards. Will love between the two overcome social differences?
