Guido Guerrieri is a successful, brilliant and deeply restless lawyer. Face every case as a personal matter, always questioning rules and certainties, empathy is its strength, but also its main fragility. Passionate about boxing, he is nostalgic of lost love for his wife Sara, from whom he is separating.
The fiction, directed by Gianluca Maria Tavarelli is freely treated by the novels “ Reasonable doubts” – “The Provisional Perfections” (Sellerio Editore) and “The Rule of Balance” (Giulio Einaudi Editore) by Gianrico Carofiglio, who of the series is also screenwriter.
Guerrieri – La regola dell’equilibrio, la trama
In an unpublished and often nocturnal Bari, lawyer Guerrier will face with acumen, sensitivity and dialectic skills the cases that are the subject of his istrionic debate defenses: a client that emerges as a ghost from his past, the mysterious disappearance of a young man, the murder of a biologue researcher and the story of an old friend, Judge Larocca, esteemed magistrate accused of corruption.
To support him in these challenges will be the trusted and skillful police inspector Carmelo Tancredi, interpreted by Michele Venitucci; Annapaola, (Ivana Lotito) former black journalist, now audacious private investigator; Consuelo, (the actress Lea Gavino) a good practitioner of the Guerrieri studio; the new stagist Toni (Michele Ragno), distracted pathological but unpredictable and brilliant.
La trama del 9 marzo
1×01 Reasonable doubts: Bari. The lawyer Guido Guerrieri, in crisis for the end of his marriage, assumes the defense of Fabio Paolicelli, reo confesso and convicted in the first degree for international drug trafficking, which is now innocent. Guido can count on the help of his friend, Inspector Carmelo Tancredi, and on the collaboration of Annapaola Doria, former investigative journalist, now detective. The prosecution against Paolicelli leaves no escape and soon the involvement of Guido dangerously exceeds the professional sphere. Between him and the defendant there is an outstanding account linked to the past. The process is intertwined with another line of more intimate and risky fracture: the ambiguous relationship that Guerrieri establishes with Odile, the wife of Paolicelli, able to further crack his already fragile balance. Warriors will have to question not only the evidence, but the very idea of truth. When everything seems decisive, the only possible space for justice becomes doubt, but the price to pay could be very high. Meanwhile, the charming Piero Larocca, judge and old friend of Guido, asks him for help: the ambitious prosecutor Berardi is investigating him with the charge of corruption. It is only the beginning of a case destined to be much more complex and shocking.
