Who is that grumpy type of neglected air that lives alone in the renovated stables of Villa Guelfi, an uninhabited and ruined residence? Spend your days doing nothing, smoking his half-toscano and avoiding contact with everyone. And when he realizes that in the villa an abusive community of girls and boys has been established who care for that countryside and abandoned vineyards, he gets nervous and wants to hunt them.
They are students, graduates, agronomists, and among them is Matilde, who was born in that place and as a child worked the vineyard with his grandfather Count Guelfo Guelfi. They are also intrigued by that misanthropist from the mysterious past: why is he standing there alone and he does not want to have contact with anyone? As the seasons progress, spring comes, then summer and clusters mature, the conflict with that community of girls and boys turns into coexistence. And Adriano will find himself in his abrupt manner accusing Matilde, who is pregnant with one of those boys..

Protagonist is Valerio Mastandrea as Adriano, a burber lawyer devoured by a deep inner drama. On his side Galatea Bellugi, a young man determined to bring the family vineyard to life, Ilaria Spada, the former wife of Adriano and Anna Ferraioli Ravel, his lawyer. Complete the main cast one of the muses of Virzì, Valeria Bruni Tedeschi, socia e accudente friend of Adriano. The result is an intimate, bitter and sweet story that interweaves different generations and reflects on responsibility, rebirth and unexpected ties.
