“To us the quality has broken er caxxo!”, one of the phrases symbol of Boris pronounced by an extraordinary Francesco Pannofino as Renè Ferretti, probably will be resounded some time ago in the corridors of Sky summits, during the first meetings to face the HBO farewell. The choice is so relapsed for the attempt to drive towards a basic American quality cable, which distances the purely copyrighted products and that can chase the public that subscribes for other reasons to the platform. Rather than replace HBO better go to fill the vacuum left now for years, by Disney products. Otherwise you don’t explain how you were born Attorney Ligas.
The TV series in six episodes with Luca Argentero is a product with a glittering packaging that squeezes the eye on Suits and American productions, but with a soft, weak and much less successful content. Ligas has nothing to do with memorabilia, it’s a series like so many that would suit to vary a rich and deep serial park, but that can’t be the top title of a platform like Sky.

Avvocato Ligas, qualità nella forma…ma la sostanza?
I put things straight away: we are talking about a quality product, well done, well turned and well-recited, a good product in the overall average of what is produced in Italy. But if we go to compare it with the Sky catalog it is a mediocre, trivial title, which tries to imitate the worst and simplest American generalist tv but that does not have the courage to disturb. Ligas wants to remain on the surface of things, in appearance, with an anti-hero character on paper. As if two cynical jokes spread here and there to call themselves negative hero.
Lawyer Ligas is a typical series that in the United States would define light legal character driven, a light series with a legal background and built around its protagonist. A character that has been defined as bad, but at the end of that goodness typical of a seriality that does not want to bother those who look away. I throw you a few seeds but if you missed a bet there’s no problem, it’s a shame that it’s not a series of 18/24 bets but by yourself you’re bets and that the horizontal plot is all built on the protagonist but it solves everything and comes out more good and positive than it seemed at the beginning. Addirittura in the smell of holiness (spoiler) since Petrello denounces it to the order for falsifying a sentence but that he simply wrote a sentence of absolution for the son of a dying woman. An act of piety, nothing but cynicism.
Il nazional popolare ci invaderà?
Even some recent attempts at Sky to open up to a more national popular world, however, remained in the name of the authorial quality from the adaptation of At casa all bene to Petra or Asummer ago, but from the third and last season of Call My Agent-Italia, passing through Piedone and until now arriving at Ligas you are noticing a little attention to what was one of the strengths of Sky seriality: writing.
The attention to visual detail no longer finds a consideration in the narrative. Personally I love light crimes and procedural issues thoughts of the American generalist TV, but they are masters to make them. And this attempt to make generalist TV fictions with a hand of visual quality (a little like a hand of white to cover holes on the wall) is far from relative to Sky seriality. A filler and no longer a choice. And the difference is not so subtle.
