A young journalist, Ben Shephard, begins to investigate and discovers that lawyer Grant actually has another identity and in the past had just been part of the group and is still wanted for the murder. Grant is forced to entrust his daughter to her brother and flee. The FBI and Shepard, separately and with different motives, put themselves on his tracks.
