The plot of the TV film Different as two Water Drops is a new variation of the romantic comedy genre of Purchè Finisca Bene. Protagonist is Gaetano, son of a noble Neapolitan family who is forced to greet the beloved aunts, friends and his beloved Naples to go to Frankfurt where his father found him work. Before leaving, however, an accident will change his life. Gaetano invests Sharon with a girl of humble extraction and in the accident destroys the old car of the dead mother, whose father is very tied up. The car doesn’t have insurance so Gaetano ends up fulfilling Sharon’s desires without saying anything to his father.
The boy will find himself a waiter at Fefè’s restaurant and the fish market keeper to replace the injured Sharon. The nice aunts will push him to confront the dishonest Alfonso, who is dilapidating the family goods. Will Sharon and Gaetano, so different, have the courage to change and even to fall in love?
