Tonight on TV, Monday 8 June 2026, on Sky Cinema comes Hunting Season – Extreme Hunt, also available on demand and streaming on NOW. The action-thriller directed by RJ Collins sees Mel Gibson as the protagonist. Written by Adam Hampton the film takes us into the remote woods of Oklahoma.
Hunting Season – Extreme Hunt tells the story of Bowdrie (Mel Gibson), a lonely man from the enigmatic past who lives away from everything together with the young Tag (Sofia Hublitz), a teenager who grew up on the edge of society. Their isolated existence is upset when the girl finds a seriously injured woman along the river. Her name is January (Shelley Hennig): she is dirty with blood, on the run and close to death. Despite the desire to stay out of trouble, Bowdrie decides to welcome her to her home and help her to stand up.
While January slowly recovers, fragments of a story emerge marked by violence and secrets. She and her friend Lizzie were kidnapped by a criminal group led by the dangerous Alejandro (Jordi Mollà), who was willing to trace a man linked to her past. As the threat grows, Bowdrie will have to choose whether to continue hiding or facing the risk to protect Tag and the fragile security they have built together.

Bowdrie lives isolated in the woods of Oklahoma along with the young Tag, grown far from the world. When the girl finds a wounded woman on the banks of the river, their life suddenly changes. The woman, January, is fleeing a criminal organization led by the violent Alejandro, who continues to hunt her. While the danger is getting closer and closer, Bowdrie will have to decide how far he is willing to go to protect Tag and January.
