CG brings the cinema of Kleber Mendonça Filho in home video

CG Entertainment always offers jewels and unpublished titles of its home video offer.

Now, focus on one of the most representative authors of international contemporary cinema, Kleber Mendonça Filho. Awarded in Cannes for the best direction and for the male interpretation, winner of 2 Golden Globe (Best Actor and Best International Film) and candidate for 4 Oscars, The Secret Agent is available on DVD and in a double disc edition Blu-ray + 4K which also includes Retratos Fantasmas, personal documentary and filmmaker’s film (CG–Minerva Raro Video). Also from Mendonça Filho arrives in Blu-ray Bacurau: between science fiction, western and slasher, the film directed together with Juliano Dornelles and winner of the jury award at the Cannes Film Festival is a reflection on the resistance of the just towards power.

Bacurau, a small town in northern Brazil, mourns the loss of his matriarch Carmelita who lived until 94 years. Some days later, residents notice that their community has disappeared from most maps. With four Academy Award nominations (Best Film, Best Leading Actor for Moura, Best Casting and Best International Film), two BAFTA nominations (Best Not in English and Best Original Screenplay) and the victory of two Golden Globes (Best Actor in a Dramatic Movie for Moura and Best Foreign Language Film), The Secret Agent is a political thriller set in the cultural scene of Brazil’s 70s.

The film wraps the viewer in a dense atmosphere of tension, evoking the splendor of the great cinema of the past thanks to a refined photograph and an iconic soundtrack, capable of enclosing the spirit of an entire era. A milestone in the revival of Brazilian cinema, marking the beginning of a new chapter on the world scene.

Played by Wagner Moura (Narcos, Civil War), Maria Fernanda Cândido (Vermelho Monet, Il Traditore) and Gabriel Leone (Eduardo and Monica, Verdades Secretas), the film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2025, where Moura won the award as Best Actor, Mendonça Filho was awarded Best Director and the film received the FArtIP Cinema Award and the Award.

Marcelo (Wagner Moura) is a university professor fleeing from a mysterious past that travels from São Paulo to Recife during the Carnival, hoping to reunite with his son. Inspired by a dizzying world of colours, sounds and unforgettable characters, Marcelo soon discovers that even in his new refuge is pawned and guarded. As the images and sounds of the city intensify, it also grows the feeling that the dense network of secrets of Recife, and the tentacles of corruption that hold him, may not leave him away.
