Marcelo (Wagner Moura) is a university professor fleeing from a mysterious past that travels from São Paulo to Recife during the Carnival, hoping to reunite with his son. Inspired by a dizzying world of colours, sounds and unforgettable characters, Marcelo soon discovers that even in his new refuge is pawned and guarded.
