Michael Clayton, la trama del film
The film tells the story of MIchael Clayton, a former public prosecutor who now works for an important law firm in New York. To the employees of the co-founder of the law firm, Marty Bach, Clayton deals with the dirty business of Kenner, Bach & Ledeen, thus trying to remedy the errors committed by the rich clients of the firm. He will deal with cases of relief omissions, defamations, wives stealing and dishonest politicians.
Michael is tired of doing this kind of work, but he is tied to the law firm because he has accumulated many debts from his divorce, his fioco vices and a failed business. Meanwhile, Karen Crowder, head of the U/North legal office, a company that deals with the production of chemicals for agriculture, is playing his career waiting for the outcome of a “class action”, in which the company is represented by Clayton’s studio.
The sentence seems to be discounted, everyone expects the U/North to win, but the unthinkable happens: Arthur Edens, the lawyer who was dealing with the class action, has a nerve crisis and blows the cause. So Michael Clayton, who will have the task of solving this disaster, but to do so he will have to understand what he will do to save a society that plays in the role of the villain.
