The Turkish series continues to be the protagonists of the Mediaset. After streaming on Mediaset Infinity, Be My Sunshine also debuts on Channel 5 from Saturday 4 July, entering the afternoon weekend programming of the network. The series, distributed in Turkey with the original title Ada Masalı, was broadcast in 2021 on the Star TV broadcaster and conquered the audience thanks to a romantic story set between the suggestive Aegean islands.
Produced by Ay Yapım, one of the main Turkish production houses, Be My Sunshine tells the encounter between two deeply different people, forced to question their own certainties. In fact, in the middle of the story there are the ambitious Haziran, raised in the frenetic rhythm of Istanbul, and Poyraz, a man linked to the simple life of a small island.
Be My Sunshine, la trama generale
The protagonist of the series is Haziran Sedefli, a determined and ambitious young woman who lives in Istanbul and dreams of a brilliant international career. When the company for which she works entrusts her a mission on a remote Aegean island, her life suddenly changes direction. The aim of Haziran is to facilitate the construction of a new tourist resort, but the project meets the interests and lifestyle of the locals.
Just on the island the young man meets Poyraz, a charming agricultural entrepreneur deeply tied to his land. Among the two was initially a conflictual relationship, fed by deep character differences and vision of life. With the passing of time, however, incomprehensions leave room for a feeling destined to change the future of both. Set between maritime landscapes and summer atmospheres, Be My Sunshine combines romanticism, comedy and sentimental drama, confirming one of the most appreciated Turkish productions of recent years.

Haziran is a young career woman who loves city life and craves a position in Tokyo’s new home. In order to obtain the transfer to Japan, he accepts one last assignment: go to an island of the Aegean Sea to find the way to shut down the oil mill of Poyraz, an insulated stubborn who has no intention of selling his land to make room for the construction of a resort. Haziran becomes a tourist to enter the mill where he will discover that the business is lost and Poyraz mortgaged the land to get a loan from the bank. Communicate this information to his boss, Haziran is ready to leave the island when he is stopped by Aunt Selma. Because of this weather, Haziran and his colleague Biricik lost the last ferry and are forced to stay on the island, just the night of a country fair where he will meet again’ Poyraz.
On the island is organized a marathon of traditional dances and, for a strange joke of fate, Haziran and Poyraz are forced to participate. Idil is mad at jealousy, but he can’t prevent it from happening. Despite this, she elicits her friend Duygu, to get information about Haziran and why on the island it is rumoured that she is the new girlfriend of Poyraz.
Haziran discovers that Poyraz is the man she is trying to ruin on behalf of her company and feels terribly guilty. Moreover, when he returns to Istanbul, his mother Zeynep tells her to be bankrupt and that he will be forced to sell the family home.

Disappointed by his boss and concerned about the economic difficulties of his mother, he decided to return to the island and renovate an old tourist village that his grandparents managed with the grandparents of Poyraz. It offers, therefore, in Poyraz a rent for the use of the place, but the man decides, instead, to enter society with her. Shortly after, to avoid Nehir discovering his secret, Haziran pretends to be in love with Poyraz and kisses him. The news immediately makes the tour of the island.
Poyraz and Haziran begin their collaboration to renovate the old resort and turn it into a boutique hotel. They have to deal with the rumors that circulate on the island after the fleeting kiss that was between them during the marathon of traditional dances. They are all convinced that the spark of love has been lit among them. The voices are so insistent that Poyraz is forced to deny them by telling everyone in the square that there is absolutely nothing between him and Haziran. But this clarification does not convince Idil that he does everything to discourage Haziran from staying on the island to have Poyraz everything for himself..
Haziran and Poyraz work to organize the engagement event. Gorkem shares with Poyraz his ideas to furnish the interior and Haziran tries to bribe a carpenter so that he builds a time frame for the event. Sadik informs Poyraz of his suspicions about the person who dismissed his financial problems. Hakan returns to the island and has a brief conversation with Idil about their past. Idil, for his part, informs Poyraz that his father offered to give him money to return the loan, but Poyraz refuses. Haziran, on a wall of his own house, paints a tree with UV pen, where at the root is written the wickedness that he did to Poyraz and, in correspondence of the branches, all the lies he said to keep it hidden.

To play the protagonist Haziran is Ayça Ayşin Turan, Turkish actress already known to the international audience for several successful television productions. Alp Navruz as Poyraz, a character who helped consolidate the actor’s popularity even outside Turkey.
Nihan Büyükağaç as Selma, İpek Tenolcay as Zeynep, Bülent Çolak as Görkem and Rami Narin as Alper. The series was directed by Ali Bilgin and Özgür Sevimli.

Be My Sunshine debuts on Channel 5 from Saturday 4 July and will be broadcast on the afternoon weekend of the network.
