On TV on Channel 20, the Pandemic thriller Contagion by Steven Soderbergh aired on Sunday, July 5 in the first evening. Contagion inevitably has many ties with the present/recent pandemic past not because it is a prophetic film but simply because a pandemic started in China (as well as the Sars previously), with high fever and cough and a lockdown to face it.

After a trip to Hong Kong for business Beth Emhoff apparently collapses to the ground for a trivial influence. He quickly took to the hospital, died shortly after his hospitalization due to an unknown disease. A new disease begins to spread and Beth is probably the first victim of what is called the MEV-1.
Ally Hextall is commissioned by Dr. Cheever, head of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) to investigate the deaths while Dr. Leonora Orantes is sent to a Chinese village looking for the patient zero. Pneumonia and nervous system seem to be attacked by a virus intersection between bat and pork.
Meanwhile, panic spreads among the people who see proliferate disease without effective remedies and even those who want to take advantage of it. Of course, being a movie enters the thriller element and the resolution is faster than what would not be in reality. Interesting is the final in which the spread of the contagion is described.
