After the passage to the Sundance Film Festival and a very positive reception from international criticism, The Invite – The pleasure is all ours preparing to arrive also in Italian theatres. The new film directed and interpreted by Olivia Wilde will be distributed in Italy by I Wonder Pictures and Unipol Biografilm Collection since September 16, preceded by national premieres scheduled on September 1 and 2. In the United States, on the other hand, the film was released on June 26, before the expansion in theatres from July 10 with A24.
Olivia Wilde’s third director after Booksmart (The Rematch of the Nuts) and Don’t Worry Darling, The Invite is the English remake of the Spanish film Sentimental by Cesc Gay. The director is also the protagonist in front of the camera next to Seth Rogen, Edward Norton and Penélope Cruz, four interpreters who give life to a brilliant comedy built almost entirely within an apartment and focused on the dynamics of couple, between irony, provocation and reflections on the matrimonial life.

Joe and Angela have been married for years, but their relationship is now worn out by routine and incommunity. In an effort to break the monotony invite the new neighbors to dinner, Hawk and Piña, a charming couple, disinvolved and definitely out of the box.
What should be a simple evening between neighbors, however, turns into an increasingly direct confrontation on the wishes, frustrations and secrets of the two couples. Among unpredictable situations and sharp dialogues, the dinner will end up questioning certainties and conventions, changing the way the protagonists look at their wedding.
