More than twenty years after the last season of the original series, Commissioner Rex returns with a new chapter that reports the famous German shepherd in his Vienna. From Thursday, July 23, the new Austro-German production debuted on Rai 2, relaunching one of the most popular police franchises of European television with an unpublished cast and new cases to solve.
This is not a continuation of the Italian version set in Rome, but a real reboot of Kommissar Rex, the series born in 1994. There are many versions that have been made of this cult years ’90, the largest serial success in Austria, sold in over 120 countries of the world. Over the years there have been an Italian version lasting 7 seasons, a Canadian Hudson & Rex that still airs, but also a Polish and Slovak and a film about Rex puppy. Next to the detective dog there is the new protagonist Max Steiner, detective of the criminal police of Vienna in this version that also titles Rex: Vienna Calling.
La trama
The protagonist is Commissioner Max Steiner, an expert but lonely investigator, who forms a team with the faithful Rex. Together they deal with complex cases between the streets of the Austrian capital, flanked by Inspector Felix Burger, Major Evelyn Leitner and M. Tom Wippler.

1×01 or 11x01Game of shadows: In a restaurant in Stephansplatz, a customer remains immobilized over a bomb connected to a pressure device: if it gets up, the device will explode. After being rescued by Max and Rex, the man mysteriously disappears and is found dead the next day. A false identity document leads investigators to suspect that the victim was hiding a double identity, giving way to an investigation full of twists.
