Furious, the miniseries departing on Disney+ from July 27 and going on until August 31, is an intense thriller from which men come to pieces. Years and years of building a toxic power of the male, white, rich that chases power costs what costs painted in the worst (or best) of the ways. Consessi of males who decide the fortunes of others and who develop the search for a murderer who kills males, white, rich, like hunting a madman.
Furious esalta Emmy Rossum
All this can only make women protagonists literally furious, even when they are resigned as in the case of the veteran FBI agent, black and relegated in a subscale to take care of those cases that do not affect anyone, concerning women, prostitution and the like, because they do not help get better positions of power. Alice Black’s tenacity, tormented young FBI agent, interpreted in a magnificent way by Emmy Rossum, will be the only grimaldello inserted in the male assemblies to try to solve the case of this serial killer by deepening the reasons I push her to act.
In the midst of such a human scum, one man saves the category, interpreted by Scoot McNary. To write the screenplay of this cat hunt with the mouse to the female is Elizabeth Meriwether who comes from New Girl and also passed for a miniseries like Dying for Sex capable of combining irony and drama.
The inspiration was the 1987 Black Widow film from which the premise of a murderer was substantially taken, killing rich men and an FBI agent who hunts them. For the rest it was all overwhelmed and updated, giving an even deeper meaning to the motivations of the two women. Meriwether was able to give ironic sprays to a deeply dramatic series like this, giving further depth to the characters.

Non rilassante
Furious is not a miniseries in which to seek consolation, does not pamper the viewer, takes him to slap more than the TV series of the last period. Wanting to find us a recent comparison, we could put it in the wake of Half Man, titles of author, quality that speak of the psychology of characters. The series moves vertically, sinking into the soul of the various protagonists, surely it was not an easy job for the various actors who faced complex themes that leave deep traces simply looking.
Probably the biggest flaw of Furious is its duration, while wishing to deepen all the characters is undeniable that in some central moments the series slows down, repeats already seen formulas, stretches on some aspects that could be synthesized. It is not a huge defect especially because from the fifth episode then everything accelerates raising emotional and physical tension. The characterization of power men between finance, FBI and police if we want to go looking for fur in the egg of an excellent miniseries, is a bit too stereotypical with actors who have already played similar roles in the past and are framed in the imagination of the politician/traffichino/corrotto.
But these are things that are forgiven to those TV series that dare to go beyond the demands of algorithms and the market.
