Paolo Virzì returns to Ventotene 28 years after Ferie d’Agosto to tell with Un Altro Ferragosto the evolution of families and Italian society, the confrontation and political confrontation between different factions and visions of life and reality. Produced by Lotus Production and Leone Film Group, the film was written by Virzì with Francesco Bruni and Carlo Virzì.
In the cast Silvio Orlando, Sabrina Ferilli, Laura Morante, Christian De Sica, Vinicio Marchioni, Emanuela Fanelli. The film returns to tell two familiar novels that meet only in a few but very controversial circumstances: the novel from the tragic and desperate tone of the Mazzalupi family and that from the painful, melancholic, ironic and sad tone of the Molino family. In a August 1996 evening, in the house of Ventotene where journalist Sandro Molino spent his holidays, his partner Cecilia revealed that he was pregnant. Today Altiero Molino is a twenty-six-year-old digital entrepreneur and returns to Ventotene with her husband photomodel to gather old friends around her father and give him a last vacation.
He did not expect to find the island in ferment for the wedding of Sabry Mazzalupi with his fiancé Cesare: the embossed daughter of the Roman shopkeeper Ruggero, became a celebrity of the web and his wedding are
