MGM+ unveiled the official trailer and the American Hostage inn, the exciting new anthological series starring the winner of the Emmy Award Jon Hamm (Mad Men, The Morning Show, Your Friends and Neighbors).
Based on the acclaimed first season of the eponymous podcast scripted, American Hostage tells the shocking true story of a beloved radio journalist who finds himself catapulted in a crisis between life and death when a kidnapper claims to be interviewed during his radio news program.

American Hostage, a high voltage anthological series interpreted and produced by the winner of the Emmy Award Jon Hamm. Co-created by Shawn Ryan and Eileen Myers, it is produced by Sony Pictures Television, will be presented world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Based on the acclaimed first season of the eponymous podcast scripted, American Hostage is a psychological thriller set in the 1970s that tells the shocking true story of Fred Heckman, a beloved radio journalist from Indianapolis who is catapulted at the center of a crisis between life and death when the kidnapper Tony Kiritsis claims to be interviewed during his famous radio program.
The executive producers are Shawn Ryan, Eileen Myers, Sharon Hoffman, Jon Hamm, Connie Tavel, Marney Hochman, Shawn Christensen, Gabriel Mason, Jen Roskind, as well as Adam Arkin and Nina Lopez Corrado, who also curate the series’ direction.
