Buen Camino record: over 13 million between Christmas and Santo Stefano

During the presentation of Buen Camino Luca Medici and Gennaro Nunziante had anticipated that on the basis of the projections that had on 27 morning James Cameron (the director of Avatar) would wake up saying “And mo’ who [Bleep] is Checco Zalone?”. And so it happened: Buen Camino earned 13.766.122 euros in just two days, an average per copy of 10,715 euros and a market share of 70.8%. After the more than 5 million Christmas in Santo Stefano came 7.918.273 euros (+37% compared to the debut), with 973.703 appearances.

The film distributed by Medusa Film has already exceeded the total of “Avatar – Fire and Ash” (12.196,000 euros) and brought the total market of yesterday to 11.182.822 euros, marking one of the best 26 December ever, third historical result after 2010 and 2009.

Why does Checco Zalone reach these figures? It would be difficult to give an answer would be interesting to throw a completely different challenge, to the public and to the exhibitors, leaving on July 15 to understand if it goes beyond the festive period and manages to move its audience even outside the parties. Checco Zalone, if we think about it, lives on rent, the success of his previous films. She almost never appears on TV, she doesn’t go to podcasts, she doesn’t do much more than her movies beyond the theatrical show. Yet during the holidays it turns into an excuse to go out joining the whole family. Because it represents that title that can please everyone, which does not create too many disputes. And then, you have to admit how in many cities it is also difficult to find more in the halls.

Buen Camino, the review: Checco Zalone is back and in the end is less worse than expected

Checco Zalone therefore represents a tackling for cinemas, makes them rediscover to the public, who knows maybe advertising can make intriguing towards some other films. But Zalone represents the title that everyone speaks of and that perfectly embodies the FOMO, the fear of being isolated. So in order to get back to school and work, to go to the gym and not stay out of the discussions, better run in the room! Who knows how much they will notice that Luca Medici in his film is mocking many of them, their attitude, that ignorance that makes them smile.
