Saturday, February 7, 2026 on IRIS will air the film “Serenity – The Island of Deception” for the Serial Thriller cycle. The film is written and directed by Steven Knight, with Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway and Diane Lane as the protagonists. The appointment with Serenity is for tonight at 21:15 on IRIS.
Serenity – The Isle of Deception went out to the cinema in 2019 cashing just over $14.4 million worldwide, of which $8 million in the US market. In Italy the film has cashed 1.4 million euros in the box office.

Baker Dill, a disgraced captain of a fishing boat on the island of Plymouth is contacted by Karen, the former wife, who asks him to kill Frank, his current, rich and violent husband, in exchange for $10 million in cash. Karen’s afraid something might happen to their son Patrick.
Frank arrives the next day on the island with a private jet convinced to go fishing tuna with his wife and Baker, it would be the perfect opportunity to do what the ex-wife asked him, but not if he feels it. Speaking with Duke, his fishing partner, Baker convinces himself, also driven by the imminent need for money. Baker will then accept the assignment and decide to do so just when they go fishing. But Baker had not predicted that during that day his past would knock on the door.
