Coach Carter is the film with Samuel L. Jackson aired tonight on Iris, Monday 23 March also streaming on Mediaset Infinity. The film is from 2005 and is only 18 years away in a clear vision but telling a story set in the past there is no risk of falling into current changes.
The protagonist Ken Carter, the head coach of the title, is a real character and it seems he wanted Samuel L. Jackson as the protagonist. The story about the film took place in 1999, in 2002 Carter was one of the theorists of the Olympics in Salt Lake. The film was filmed in California between Los Angeles and San Francisco, the gym is the St Anthony’s High School in Long Beach.

Ken Carter is a former basketball player who after the retirement runs a sports shop. One day, Carter accepts the offer to train the ” Oilers” of Richmond High School, in which he moved the first steps. In his first day as a coach, Carter understands that he has to deal with difficult boys: he gives them contracts with terms to establish, how to have a good average grade, stay at the first benches and show up in a jacket and tie at the matches. Three players, however, refuse Carter’s contract and leave. Meanwhile, Damien, the son of Carter who attends the prestigious Saint Francis school, decides to move to Richmond to play on his father’s team.
Carter’s workouts give its fruits and ” Oilers ” beat Hercules school thanks to Damien. After the game Timo Cruz, one of the players who left the team, asks to return to the team: Carter agrees, if Timo will make 2500 folds and 1000 suicides (activity that consists of uninterruptedly running along the playing field, stopping to touch all lines) by Friday. Timo is committed, but fails to reach the predetermined goal: the comrades, then, decide to make for him the remaining folds and suicides, gorgeous Carter and convincing him to reintegrate on team Timo.
