In a period of great returns, in which to stand out in the mass of the platforms is practically impossible, relying on known titles is the easiest thing to do, so did ABC that in a season without news comedy decided to repropose Scrubs with a tenth revival season with the return of all the main cast. A nostalgia effect that has long been sought but that seemed unable to realize considering Bill Lawrence’s commitments and studios and productions.
Scrubs had been designed by Bill Lawrence who returns here as executive producer while showrunner Aseem Batra. It should not be considered a misinterest of the creator as a legal impediment. In fact, Lawrence with his Doozer Production has a deal with Warner Bros Discovey who is not involved in Scrubs. In fact the series was historically produced by Touchstone for NBC, then passed to ABC with the last two (although the ninth is practically not considered by fans), in the end also Touchstone ended in the Disney group.
The revival was however ordered only when all the protagonists, starting with Zach Braff signed the contract to return to the series. The American public welcomed the revival with over 11 million viewers in the first 5 days between ABC and the various platforms. Scrubs, with a weekly bet debuted on March 25 in Italy on Disney+ a month away from the USA, the season has 9 bets. The return of Scrubs confirms how today we are in the middle of a TV designed for millennials, they are to make it and to see it dreaming of being still teenagers.
