Dracula Lost Love: the myth according to Luc Besson in home video

Luc Besson writes and directs a love story that can resist death and cross the centuries. His Dracula, portrayed by Caleb Landry Jones, shows us the tormented and monstrous nature but also the most intimate side of the vampire for antonomasia he chose to deny even God.

Dracula is willing to find the lost love: deceives, manipulates, seduces, kills. His thirst for blood is, in the end, a desperate, absolute, eternal thirst. But can the purest of the feelings redeem him from the darkness he has chosen to abandon himself for over four centuries?

Transylvania, 15th century. Prince Vladimir, after the sudden loss of his beloved, denies God, thus inherit an eternal curse: to become a vampire. Condemned to wander over the centuries, challenge destiny and death itself, guided by a single hope: to rediscover lost love.

The film is a story of love since its title, moving away from Bram Stoker’s classic. It mentions the cult of Francis Ford Coppola but also many other genre titles, with various aesthetics sometimes questionable but always interesting. Landry Jones works.

Dracula L’amore perduto: l’edizione home video

The 4K+Blu-ray edition of Lucky Red and Midnight Factory label of Plaion Pictures dedicated to the horror, is from collection. Elegant, refined, it is composed of an external cardboard that encloses the plastic amaray and an explanatory booklet on the back of the scenes of the making of the film, as well as the romantic reinterpretation of the myth by Besson.
