On Tuesday 31 March 2026 the film I Fratelli De Filippo, film by Sergio Rubini, will be aired on Rai Movie, presented in October 2023 at the Film Festival in Rome and released at the cinema for 3 days between 13 and 15 December 2023 as a special event.
The film is written by Sergio Rubini with Carla Cavalluzzi and Angelo Pasquini and tells the true story of the brothers De Filippo Titina, Eduardo and Peppino who are illegitimate children of a great actor and comedian like Eduardo Scarpetta. The music of the film is by Nicola Piovani.

Following the plot of I Fratelli De Filippo tonight on Rai Movie, we trace the story of 3 sacred monsters of Italian cinema such as Eduardo, Peppino and Titina De Filippo. The three at the beginning of the 1900s grow alone with the mother Luisa De Filippo. The biological father is Eduardo Scarpetta a great actor and comedian, but he has another family. While keeping the 3 boys and making them study they cannot recognize them and believes them less than the legitimate ones and in particular to Vicenzo considered his heir.
The 3 De Filippos manage to enter the world of the theatre and remain enchanted. Eduardo in particular shows a talent worthy of his father but opposed by this hostile figure. On the death of Eduardo in 1925, the three discover that they had nothing in inheritance from their father and survive by filling their sleeves. Peppino starts shooting for small theater companies, Titina moves an actor from which he has a son and Eduardo works together with the half-brother Vincenzo.
The three decide to give life to the company The Brothers of Philip but the quarrels are continuous. Peppino does not bear the desire of Eduardo to prime, the two brothers often diminish the sister considered unconventional.
