Here comes a new Spanish fiction in the summer of Canale 5 which is a remake of an Italian miniseries: A new start from Tuesday 26 May in the first evening on Canale 5 is in fact the adaptation of La Sposa made by Rai with Alessandra Mastronardi protagonist. The Spanish version Entre Tierras sees Megan Montaner (loved Pepa de The Secret) as the protagonist, has 10 episodes released in 2023 but has been renewed for a second season in February 2025, also is already available on Netflix (but only with the first season).
A new beginning adopts colors close to the psychological thriller and expands the narrative to deepen figures of secondary characters and sub-traits that, in the second season, thanks to a 20 year time leap, will develop in a real family saga.
Un nuovo inizio, la trama
Set between Castilla-La Mancha and Almería, the series tells a silent heroine ready to sacrifice: María (Montaner), strong and generous, after the death of his father takes care of his mother and brothers and, in order to guarantee them a better future, agrees to marry a rich landowner (Juanjo Puigcorbé), renouncing the beloved José (Carlos Serrano), emigrated to Germany in search of luck.
Arrived in the new house, Mary discovers that the marriage – celebrated by proxy – hides a deceit: the groom is Manuel (Unax Ugalde), nephew of the Latifondista Ramón, in the dark of the piano orchestrated by her uncle. Only the sudden return of José will question everything..

1×01 Ramón Cervantes, a wealthy Castilian, arrives in a small town in the province of Almería with the intention of taking a wife. María, the firstborn of a family who lives on sacrifices, agrees to give up her feelings to ensure a future for her loved ones, despite the expectation of a fiancé who left years before for Germany and now disappeared in silence. During the ceremony he discovers that marriage is by proxy and that the man he is tied to is actually Manuel, Ramón’s nephew. There is also the existence of a child and the shadow of a missing wife, elements that open unexpected scenarios and loads of tension.
1×02 Once in the new house, María begins to know the people who govern the balances, starting from Justa, who introduces it to the rules and daily duties. Meanwhile, pressure on Manuel grows, linked to obligations that do not allow hesitation. In the work in the fields, María warns the hostility of the jornaleras and the suspicions circulating on the past of the family. Voices, allusions and an unexpected discovery reveal the story of Manuel’s first wife, while a sudden event involves his son and opens disturbing questions. For María, fear and doubt become constant companions, in a place where nothing is as it appears.
