A bit surprising and without particular clamor, HBO Max has uploaded the first two seasons of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage the comedy TV series, born as a sequel/spinoff of Young Sheldon, then included in the universe of The Big Bang Theory. A gift waiting for the departure of Stuart Fails to Save the Universe sequel/spinoff of TBBT with the secondary “personality” of the historic comedy and that promises a tasty and surreal scientific drift.
The most surprising thing is that the second season ended only last May (and was obviously renewed) and that it is also dubbed. On this aspect, however, without removing anything from the Italian dubbing, the advice is to see it in the original language. The way to talk about Georgie Cooper with that texan inflection, so marked is one of the comic keys of the series, amplified also by other characters.
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, la trama
The series began with what happened in the last seasons of Young Sheldon in which the character of Mandy McAllister had been introduced, who remains pregnant with Georgie Cooper, but between the two there are 11 years of difference. In Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage the couple goes to live at Mandy’s parents’ house and Georgie starts working in Mandy Jim’s father’s workshop. Through The Big Bang Theory we know that George Jr. will always stay in Texas and will become rich thanks to the tires, but also that he married and divorced twice.
The TV series then tells the life of a nearly 20-year-old and almost 30-year-old who live at her parents’ house, with her brother who somehow remembers Sheldon despite not being brilliant, has more than anything about the problems in affective relationships and interaction with others. In the course of the episodes there are other characters from Young Sheldon like Georgie Missy’s sister, Mother Mary, Grandma and Shepherd Jeff. The whole series is built between family life, work with the workshop, Mandy’s attempts to return to being the weather presenter on TV. A very traditional sitcom, sometimes vintage, that lives immersed in the 1990s.

The series has a quite classic format of 22 bets on 2 seasons. A third will debut in October on CBS (and at this point it remains to be understood how it will be distributed even in Italy if complete at the end of the season or perhaps at a closer distance).
