In July the dirty, bad criminals of The Westies arrive. The TV series is set in New York in the 1980s and tells how Irish crime managed to overcome the Italian mob in the construction of the Hell’s Kitchen district. The Irish gang will be driving J.K. Simmons. The Westies has eight bets, it is created by Chris Brancato and Michael Panes and will arrive from July 12 on MGM+ with the first two episodes followed by the others with weekly release. Italy is one of the countries in which the series will arrive together with USA, UK, Germany, Belgium, Holland and Spain.
The Westies, la trama
In the middle of the TV series there is the band of The Westies, of Irish origin. In the 1980s, the construction of the Jacob Javits Convention Centre in Hell’s Kitchen, promised strong economic investments. Despite the mafia families being more numerous, the brutality of the Westies managed to give them the necessary strength to make their way. But the conflict between young people eager to emerge and the old school risks splitting the gang that will end up intertwining with the FBI investigation into the Italian Mafia.
