Tuesday 7 July arrives on Rai 4 The Bay of Silence, a 2020 psychological thriller directed by Dutch director Paula van der Oest and distributed internationally with the original title The Bay of Silence. The film is a co-production between the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, starring Claes Bang, Olga Kurylenko and Brian Cox.
Presented at the Shanghai International Film Festival in 2020, The Bay of Silence builds its own narrative around the themes of memory, trauma and family secrets, developing a story alternating psychological thrillers and family drama. The script is signed by actress and producer Caroline Goodall, who adapted the original novel for the big screen.

Will and Rosalind seem to lead a peaceful life with their children in their London home. The family balance suddenly breaks when Rosalind disappears without leaving explanations, bringing children with him. Convinced that at the base of his wife’s escape there is something more than just a personal crisis, Will undertakes research that leads him to the northern coast of France.
However, the finding of the family quickly turns into a nightmare when the man discovers that their youngest son died in mysterious circumstances. Determined to demonstrate the innocence of his wife, Will begins to dig in the past of Rosalind, bringing secrets, traumas and truths hidden for years.

The protagonist Will Walsh is Claes Bang, a Danish actor known to the international audience for The Square, Dracula and The Northman. Alongside him, she plays Olga Kurylenko as Rosalind Palliser, a Ukrainian actress also known for her participation in the James Bond saga in Quantum of Solace.
The cast also includes Brian Cox in the role of Milton Hunter, Alice Krige as Vivian Palliser, Assaad Bouab as Pierre Laurent and Caroline Goodall, who in addition to signing the script plays the character of Marcia.
