After the success of the Turkish series broadcast in recent years, Canale 5 re-presents Memories, a 2015 romantic film directed by Abdullah Oğuz and distributed in Turkey with the original title Senden Bana Kalan. The film, on Tuesday, July 7 in the first evening, features Neslihan Atagül and Ekin Koç and represents an adaptation of the 2006 South Korean film A Millionaire’s First Love. The film had already been broadcast last summer.
The film combines the story of formation, melodrama and love history, developing the path of growth of a young man forced to question his own certainties after returning to the place where he spent his childhood. The presence of Neslihan Atagül, who became very popular in Italy thanks to Endless Love, helped renew the interest of the Italian public towards this production.
La trama di Memories
The protagonist of the story is Özgür, a young man who grew up in luxury after losing his parents as a child. At the end of the eighteen years, however, he discovers that in order to be able to take possession of the engraving inheritance left by his grandfather he must respect a precise condition: to move for a period in the small village of Adatepe, to live with a modest income and complete the studies in the local school.
Contrary to what he considers to be an imposition, Özgür is forced to leave his life well and return to the place where he had spent part of his childhood. Here he meets again Elif, a young woman who lives in an orphanage and who holds a deep bond with the boy’s past. The relationship between the two will lead Özgür to confront the meaning of love, loss and responsibility.

To play Elif is Neslihan Atagül, an actress among the most popular of contemporary Turkish television and known to the Italian public especially for the role of Nihan in the Endless Love series. Beside her she plays Ekin Koç in the role of Özgür, male protagonist of the story.
The cast Zeynep Kankonde, Sabri Özmener, Wilma Elles, Doğa Konakoğlu, Hakan Karahan, Silvyo Behmoaras, Gamze Pelin Gökçe, Buğra Özmüldür, Tayfun Savlıoğlu and Dila Pekdemir complete. The director is entrusted to Abdullah Oğuz, author and producer of the most famous of the Turkish film scene.

Memories is the Turkish remake of the South Korean film A Millionaire’s First Love, released in 2006. The version directed by Abdullah Oğuz rereads the original history by adapting it to the Turkish cultural and social context, keeping the path of growth of the protagonist and the love story that deeply marks his life.
The filming was carried out in some of the most suggestive places in Turkey, including the village of Adatepe, the area of Mount Ida, the island of Cunda and several areas of Istanbul, contributing to build the romantic and melancholic atmosphere that characterizes the film.
