Antonio (Cristiano Caccamo) has finally found the love of his life, Paolo (Salvatore Esposito), with whom he happily lives in Berlin. In the enthusiasm of a tender declaration of love, Antonio asks Paul to marry him but now comes the time to face the two families.
They decide therefore to leave together for Italy, destination Civita di Bagnoregio, where the parents of Antonio live: the mother Anna (Monica Guerritore) and the father Roberto (Diego Abatantuono), progressive mayor of the country who made the reception and integration the strengths of his policy. The two lovers join, for a journey full of revelations and surprises, their bizarre friend Benedetta (Diana Del Bufalo) and the new roommate Donato (Dino Abbrescia).
Anna immediately accepts the intention of her son to unite civilly to Paul as long as all traditions and conditions are respected: at the wedding she will have to participate in the future mother-in-law, we will have to invite the whole country, the organization will have to take care of Enzo Miccio, wedding planner par excellence and the boys will have to be united in marriage by her husband, with so much of tricolored band. Will Paul’s mother, Vincenza (Rosaria D’Urso), participate in the wedding? But above all, will Roberto support his son’s choice?
