The French comedy The Leroy family (Nous, les Leroy) arrives Friday 17 July in the first evening on Rai 3. Directed by Florent Bernard, at his debut in the feature film, the film features Charlotte Gainsbourg and José Garcia as a couple with an inevitable separation. Among ironic moments and reflections on family life, the story develops as a road movie that accompanies the protagonists on a journey through the most important places of their love story. alternating malinconic moments to other more fun.
Presented at the Alpe d’Huez Festival and distributed in French theatres in 2024, the film tackles with lightness themes such as the couple crisis, the relationship with children and the difficulty of accepting changes.
La trama
When Sandrine informs her husband Christophe of wanting to divorce, the decision seems definitive. Before putting an end to their marriage, however, Christophe has a last idea: to organize a family trip together with the two teenage children, retracing the places that marked their history.
What was to be a desperate attempt to get closer is transformed into a path made of memories, misunderstandings, unexpected and new awareness. During the journey each member of the family will be forced to deal with emotions that have remained unresolved for a long time, discovering that even a relationship reached the end of the line can still reserve surprises.

Charlotte Gainsbourg plays Sandrine Leroy, the woman who decides to end the wedding, while José Garcia dresses her husband Christophe Leroy’s shoes, decided to try a last gesture to save the family.
They complete the cast Lily Aubry in the role of the daughter Pénélope, Hadrien Heaulmé in that of the son Bastien, Lyès Salem, Luis Rego and Louisa Baruk.
