On Tuesday 21 July in the first evening on Canale 5 there will be Delibal – Sweet poison, romantic and dramatic Turkish film, in the first sight, directed by Ali Bilgin and interpreted by Çağatay Ulusoy and Leyla Lydia Tuğutlu. Released in 2015, the film tells a story of intense love that also addresses delicate issues such as mental health, the weight of expectations and the difficulty of living with a psychological disorder.
In fact, while initially presenting itself as a classic love story, Delibal – Sweet poison addresses more complex issues related to mental health and impact on the life of a couple. The director is signed by Ali Bilgin, author known above all for his work in Turkish television productions.
This was the first star movie by Çağatay Ulusoy. In Turkish, “Delibal” literally means “mad honey”: it is a natural honey really produced in some areas of Turkey and the Black Sea.
La trama
Barış is a student of architecture that cultivates a great passion for music. Impulsive and full of enthusiasm, one day he meets Füsun, a brilliant sociology student determined to build a professional future and continue his studies abroad.
Despite the character differences, between the two comes an overwhelming love that leads them to build a life together. With the passing of time, however, their relationship is tested by the psychological fragility of Barış. The disease begins to increasingly influence its everyday life and that of the couple, transforming what looked like a romantic fairy tale into a painful path made of misunderstandings, sacrifices and difficult choices.
