On the occasion of the fifteenth anniversary of Amy Winehouse’s disappearance, Sky Arte offers first sight on Wednesday 22 July at 21:15, also streaming on NOW and on demand, the BBC documentary Amy Winehouse – Anima Ribelle. The documentary film traces the life of the singer through the testimonies of his relatives and people who were closest to her, with the aim of returning a more intimate and personal portrait of the artist, going beyond the image built over the years by the media.

For the first time it is especially the mother Janis Winehouse to tell her daughter in detail. Conviving with multiple sclerosis and fearing to lose memories related to Amy, Janis chooses to share his own version of the story, remembering a complex woman, strong and full of vitality, in some cases offering a different perspective than what he has accompanied for years the public story of the singer.
The documentary also collects testimonies from friends Naomi, Chantelle, Catriona and Michael, who had never publicly talked about their relationship with Amy. Through their memories, aspects of his personality and his daily life have emerged so far unfamiliar.
Among the sequences of the documentary is also the one in which Janis reopens for the first time the deposit in which the family had preserved much of Amy’s personal effects after her death.
