Saturday evening in the sign of the yellow on Rai 2 with a mother and daughter journey that turns into a nightmare is at the center of vanished into nothing (Taken at a Truck Stop: A Black Girl Missing Movie), thriller directed by Cat Hostick that Rai 2 offers Saturday 25 July in the first evening. Protagonist is Abby, a woman determined to find her teenage daughter mysteriously disappeared during a autogrill stop, giving way to a desperate race against the time that will lead her to investigate even when official searches seem to have stopped.
With a story that addresses the theme of missing persons and the determination of a mother willing to find her daughter, the film builds tension through an investigation that questions all certainty and leads the protagonist to follow tracks that the police failed to walk.
La trama
Abby and 13-year-old Zooey spend a weekend together in the mountains, leaving her husband Mitch home. During the return journey they decide to stop in a cargrill, but in a few moments the girl disappears without leaving any trace.
Research is started immediately and the case gets great media attention, but over the months the investigations do not produce concrete results. Convinced that someone abducted his daughter, Abby refuses to surrender and continues to seek her alone, collecting clues, photographing places and questioning possible witnesses. When he finally thinks he has identified Zooey’s disappearance officer, he decides to face him personally, risking everything to bring his daughter home.
