Tonight on TV Sunday, August 23, 2026 on Rete 4 will air a classic of his film, the film “Il futiva“, directed by Andrew Davis, with Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones. The Fuggitivo, is inspired by the homonymous TV series of the 1960s that in turn inspired a fact of news really happened. The film, released in the world theatres in 1993 and cashed around $368.8 million worldwide, of which 183,8 million was cashed only in the US market.
Il Fuggitivo, la trama
The protagonist of the film is Richard Kimble, a renowned Chicago surgeon who returns home after a working day finds his wife Helen wounded to death by a man with one arm. Kimble will come up with the killer, but the latter will have the best and will be able to escape.
When the police arrived, they immediately noticed the lack of evidence of the inruption in the killer’s house, and the police discovered that there was a policy on Helen’s life. If we add a call to the suspicious emergency number, made by Helen herself, the police begin to believe that it was Kimble who killed her. Accused of first-class murder, Kimble is sentenced to death penalty, but during a transfer that was leading him to his execution, Kimble finds a way to get rid of and escape.
So all the police of America will put on his tracks, Marshal Sam Gerard and his colleagues: Renfro, Biggs, Newman and Poole will take care of his hunt. Meanwhile Kimble manages to sneak into a hospital to try to cure and alter his appearance. Kimble will be on the run, but his primary goal is to find evidence and his wife’s killer and deliver it to justice.
