Born for You is a film Sky Original, presented at the Naples Film Festival and released at the cinema at the end of 2023 cashing little more than 800 thousand euros. In the middle of the film there is the story of Luca Trapanese, single, homosexual and Catholic who struggled to adopt a child with abandoned down syndrome in the hospital. A true story that Trapanese told through a novel. The film arrives on Channel 5 Tuesday 25 August 2026.
Nata per te la trama
Born for you is the story of Luke and Alba: a man and a child who desperately need each other, although the world around them does not yet seem ready to see them together. The Naples court is looking for a family for Alba, which has down syndrome and, just born, was abandoned in the hospital. Luca, single, homosexual, Catholic, has always moved by a strong desire for fatherhood, struggle to obtain the custody of Alba. How many “traditional” families must say no before Luke can be considered? Can a child rejected by the world become the prize of a life?
Il cast
Fabio Mollo directs a moving story of love and paternity, focusing on the mighty struggle of a man who at all costs wants to be a father. In the cast, together with Pierluigi Gigante as Luca, we find Teresa Saponangelo, Barbora Bobulova, Antonia Truppo and Iaia Forte. The film is a production Cattleya and Bartlebyfilm, in collaboration with Vision Distribution, Ministry of Culture, Directorate General Cinema Audiovisual, in collaboration with Sky, with the contribution of Campania Region and Film Commission Campania Region.
