Sometimes you watch a movie and think that who wrote it or directed it has a vision of life that is incompatible with yours. If the performance is not great, the experience of vision becomes almost unbearable. From great, directed by Fausto Brizzi on the subject and screenplay by Brizzi with Franco Amurri, is the reboot of the 1987 Italian film entitled Da grande e interpreta da Renato Pozzetto e directed by Amurri. It is produced by Eagle Pictures and has been streamed years ago, arrives on August 27, 2026 in the first free vision on Channel 5.
Da grandi, la trama
Marco, Tato, Serena and Leo are 8 years old and are inseparable friends. Each of them has its own peculiarities and passions, but especially each of them has a different family. There is the single mother who meets a lot of men, the abandoned father with tennis fixation, the couple without money and the orphan raised by grandparents. In short, there is for all tastes, and none of them can be happy with his situation. These children are looking forward to becoming great!
One day, during Marco’s birthday party, they express a desire: I want to grow and leave behind the dissatisfaction of the present. Something superior makes them happy: they awaken in the body of adults. They will have to deal with adult life but also with their families, who think that children have disappeared, perhaps kidnapped by four unknown criminals.
Da grandi, la recensione
Brizzi chooses the magic of changing bodies at night (a classic that leads to hilarious – they are sarcastic – unforeseen and incomprehensive) to do what he thinks, perhaps, is a sharp analysis of Italian society, families and the couple, with a cynicism a little phony that in fact leads to a final that has no meaning or meaning. There are no normal families, there are no satisfied children, there are no happy adults. This seems to tell us this film, which does not laugh but does not even cry, and is in the middle, in the embarrassment of seeing fifty-year-olds behave as stereotypical children and borderline stupid, as in the cartoons of the Week Enigmistic.
There is to say, then, that some things just do not spin. Why do children, who have the same age of departure, when they wake up adults are all older than the only child in the group, who is interpreted by Ilenia Pastorelli, who has 37 years of age while, for example, Enrico Brignano has 57? Or: the storyline of the discovery of homosexuality of one of them, why is it made easily if not vulgar, when in any case you are talking about children of 8 years trapped in bodies (and only bodies) adults? Il cast
Enrico Brignano is Marco, the protagonist who has a crush on the teacher Francesca. Ilenia Pastorelli is Serena, brought to tennis and forced by her father to become a champion.
