Leopold and Amanda have promised eternal love when they were children, but at 25 years away that promise lies before the most difficult trial. This is the starting point of Rido because I love you, romantic comedy written, directed and interpreted by Paolo Ruffini, who arrives in first sight on Rai 1 Sunday, August 30 at 21:30.
The film is produced by Pegasus, QMI and Rai Cinema and distributed by Medusa Film. History comes from the idea of putting a very simple question at the centre: if we could meet the child we were, would he be proud of the adult we have become? It is precisely this comparison between Leopold’s past and present life to lead his attempt to recover the relationship with Amanda. The film, released in Italian theatres in 2023, lasted about 99 minutes.
La trama
Leopold, interpreted by Nicola Nocella, and Amanda (Barbara Venturato) are known since children and grow together with the idea of getting married. Twenty-five years later, the promise finally seems to be about to become reality, the two are in fact engaged in wedding preparations. Meanwhile, however, their lives took different directions, Leopold became a successful pastry chef, focused on his career and work while Amanda instead gave up the dream of becoming a dancer and teaching classical dance.
A few days after the wedding everything changes, Amanda receives a proposal from the Paris Opéra to collaborate on the realization of a new show. The possibility to return to confront the world of dance puts Leopold in front of a choice, but his reaction ends up compromising the relationship with Amanda.
When Amanda decides to leave, Leopold understands that she has put in the background the person she loves and has gone away from the child she was. He remains a week to try to recover the relationship and maintain a promise made many years earlier. To succeed, with the help of his friend Ciro (Paolo Ruffini), he will have to return to that spontaneity he had progressively lost.
Il cast
In the role of the two protagonists are Nicola Nocella and Barbara Venturato, while Paolo Ruffini plays Ciro, the friend who helps Leopoldo in an attempt to regain Amanda. The cast also includes Daphne Scoccia, Claudio Gregori (Greg), Herbert Ballerina, Loretta Goggi, Enzo Garinei (at his last appearance), Lucia Guzzardi, Giulia Provvedi, Malika Ayane and Filippo Caccamo.
