Given the good results of the Chicago franchise obtained during the summer, Italy 1 tries to follow the trail leading to the CIA premiere, the last born in the Dick Wolf police universe that brings together FBI and One Chicago (also going beyond the networks since one is CBS and the other NBC). From September 4th, 1 CIA arrived on Italy with Tom Ellis and Nick Gehlfuss as a scapegoat CIA agent and a lygio FBI agent running a task force that must prevent national security threats from reaching New York.
Colin Glass (Ellis) is a CIA agent used to move beyond the boundaries of the rules while and Bill Goodman (Gehlfuss) is a very stricter and more compliant FBI special agent. The series was born after the closure of the two FBI International and Most Wanted spinoffs with the aim of equipping CBS of another unified but divided franchise, it would have to be a real spinoff with so much incursion of the characters in the FBI but in the end this was not done and the series had its own life while being inserted in that universe. Basically, it’s an offshoot. The series has been renewed and the second season will start on October 5 on CBS, the first season has 12 bets.
La trama di CIA
The idea behind the series is to put together two intelligent worlds that normally operate according to different logics. Colin Glass is an experienced CIA agent in undercover operations and little prone to following the rules a letter. Bill Goodman comes from the FBI and is used to comply with procedures and protocols.
