Saturday 5 September at 21:20 on Rai 2 airs Love and death in Namibia, German thriller of 2026 directed by Florian Baxmeyer. Protagonist is Julia Koschitz, as Hannah Jansen, a woman who departs from Berlin after receiving news of the death of his son Dominik, who died in the desert of Namibia.
The journey takes Hannah farther than she imagined. What initially seems to be an accident linked to the child’s stay in Namibia has in fact several suspicious elements, a tampered car, a missing journalist and the interests of a company engaged in the extraction of uranium. Love and death in Namibia this year in Germany with a duration of 88 minutes, has as its original title Wo die Stille tötet – Mord in der Wüste. The film is directed by Florian Baxmeyer, while the script is signed by Klaus Arriens and Thomas Wilke.

Hannah Jansen lives in Berlin and works as a cashier in a supermarket. With his son Dominik, he has very distant relationships, so much so that his life in Namibia knows little. When the news of his death comes, however, he decides to leave immediately to try to understand what happened.
Dominik disappeared in the desert after a problem at his car. Hannah wants to reach the place of disappearance, but she is facing a territory she does not know and in which to move alone is anything but simple. During the research he meets Vincent, a tourist guide who decides to accompany her.
Soon Hannah understands that the story cannot be settled as a simple accident. Some documents, the tampered car and the disappearance of a journalist make a much more complex story emerge, in which the interests of a mining company involved in the extraction of uranium seem to have a role.
The search for truth forces Hannah to confront her son who believed she knew and with a part of her life that had been completely hidden.
Il cast
Julia Koschitz plays Hannah Jansen, a common woman who finds herself facing a much bigger situation than her. Michael Klammer is Vincent, the guide that accompanies her during the search in the desert. In the cast we also find Gustav Schmidt, Kathy Etoa, Samia Chancrin and Robert Maaser, along with Hendrik Heutmann, Jessem Elfazzani, Victor Tahal and other interpreters.
