City of Blood, on Disney+ the story of a Berlin destroyed by climate change

In a world increasingly divided and overwhelmed by climate change, the future is afraid and the world of entertainment continues to tell the uncertainty that envelops us through disturbing stories in reality dystopian. From September 16th on Disney+ comes the German City of Blood thriller set in a devastated Germany between pandemics and climate change, where the European Union no longer exists and the same idea of nation was overcome by the organization of micro-states.

The TV series is set in a Berlin where there are going to be decisive elections for the future of the city and where two girls live, two separate sisters when they were still small and trying to rebuild their relationship. In this complex history, another element (perhaps too) of vampires is added to the city’s crime guide.

City of Blood la trama

An unbearable heat envelops a world devastated by climate change, where crime dominates everyday life. Berlin has become a city-state on the verge of collapse. While few privileged people live comfortably under a fully air-conditioned dome, the rest of the city sinks into corruption and violence. The two sisters Bea and Phoebe were separated by girls following a tragic event: Bea, today suffering from chronic illness, grows in a privileged environment with her adoptive mother, while her older sister Phoebe tries to survive on the streets of Berlin.

When their worlds return to cross, just before a decisive election, they make a shocking discovery: vampires control organized crime and want to conquer political power to ensure survival. Blood has become the real coin of the city. Finished at the heart of the conflict, Phoebe and Bea will not only fight for their lives, but also face a disturbing question: who represents the greatest threat, human beings or vampires?
