La trama
Born in New York in 1905 by German immigrant parents, Trudy Ederle discovers from a young age a strong passion for swimming. In an age in which agonistic sport is still strongly influenced by prejudice to women, the girl decides to point to a goal that seems out of its reach.
The film follows its path in the Olympic team of swimming and the difficulties it faces to compete at the highest levels. Next to her are the older sister and coaches who support sports growth, while Trudy continues to pursue an even more ambitious goal: facing the Channel waters.
The central moment of history is the crossing of about 33 kilometers from France to England, an enterprise that Trudy Ederle completed in 1926. Its success brings it into the history of sport and represents the culmination of a path built through training, resistance and determination.
