Sunday, April 19, 2026 on IRIS will air The Devil’s Attorney, part of the cycle “Other Worlds” on the air every Monday on IRIS. It is a 1997 American film, taken from Andrew Neiderman’s novel, and tells the story of a lawyer who will work for a great law firm in New York, who will soon notice that he has sold his soul to the devil. The Devil’s Advocate (English: The Devil’s Advocate) cashed just over $152.9 million worldwide, when he went out to the cinema in 1997. The film was directed by Taylor Hackford, with Keanu Reeves as the protagonist.

The film tells Kevin Lomax, a young lawyer living in Gainesville, a little village in Florida. Kevin is moved with Mary Ann, he is very good at his work and is very ambitious, in fact he will be very happy when he receives the call of the law firm Milton, New York, with a proposal for work. So Kevin moves to New York, and arrives at the law firm without ever losing a cause. He will meet them at the head of the law firm, John Milton, a very mysterious man who will immediately entrust a very complicated case, just to test his skills.
His wife Mary Ann, accustomed to the quiet life of the country, finds it difficult to adapt to a chaotic city like New York, and for a while he has been having night troubles and hallucinations that make her lose her reason. That’s why Mary Ann is admitted to a psychiatric hospital, but soon after she takes her life. Kevin feels guilty, thinks he neglected his wife, devoting all his energies to his work. Tormented by guilt, Kevin will have to deal with a shocking discovery, which was revealed to him by his mother.
